Damn it all, this one is between Black Panther and The Favourite. Just as Best Costume Design will be. So, here’s where I’m going to say that Academy members will be more impressed with the production design of The Favourite, and the inspired invention of the costumes with Black Panther. This isn’t an entirely psychological read of the Academy since I think both films are deserving of each, but something on my gut told me this was the right decision. And I flipped a coin. And went against the coin.
