While there are criticisms that Roma is a bit over-directed, you really can’t deny how stunning the film is from an aesthetic point-of-view. I would be tempted to give it to A Star Is Born, given Libatique’s expert ability to give me agita with his ability to put me in a Coachella-like live concert experience, but this one is about 90% going to Cuarón.
