Winner: Hooooooo boy. Okay, we have a super strong category here, but it’s essentially between Maggie Gyllenhaal and Elisabeth Moss, and only because the exquisite Claire Foy already won last year and the HFPA likes to keep us on our toes from year to year. A sensible person would say that Moss has this in the bag, and she probably does. But I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Maggie Gyllenhaal takes it in an upset for her devastating and vulnerable portrayal of Candy/Eileen in HBO’s excellent porn-focused drama, The Deuce. I will actually jump up and down and throw food in the air if she pulls this one out. Bring it home, Candy!
